Dear HCV Participants and Landlords,
During this period of the Federal Government Shutdown, Charter Oak Communities is committed to keeping you informed about the status of Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) and Utility Allowance Payments (UAP).
As you know, the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program is fully funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). No funds are provided by any other source, including the State of Connecticut, the City of Stamford or by Charter Oak Communities.
We are pleased to inform you that all HAP and UAP payments for November & December 2025 will be processed and issued as scheduled. As long as the shutdown remains in effect, we will continue to provide updates regarding payments beyond November. Please also note that during the shutdown, tenants are still responsible for paying their portion of the rent as usual.
We recognize the significant impact this might have on you, and we remain committed to keeping you updated regarding all meaningful developments. Please continue to check our website at www.charteroakcommunities.org for the latest information as it becomes available.
